PREVENTION
Services – Prevention
Whether it’s your first, tenth or 35th Dour, you have to prepare for a festival!
For 5 days, you’ll live on music, encounters and discoveries, and create one of the most beautiful memories of your life.
In collaboration with professionals, the Dour Festival team looks after you.
For a carefree Dour!
Preparing for your festival is simple: sleep, eat well, drink water, protect yourself and… smile! We recommend you bring :
- sunscreen
- earplugs – Even if we limit decibels, think of your ears. Our partner BLOX will be offering them on its stand, as well as children’s helmets for hire.
- rest (and even more before hitting the road!)
- water. Bottles of 0.5L water will be on sale in bars and 1.5L on campsites. Dehydration is often the cause of many ailments, so remember to use the drinking water taps located in our sanitary areas to wash your hands and refresh yourself.
Actions for the well-being of the public
Prevention and awareness-raising stands will be on hand to inform you about the best practices to adopt at parties, as well as :
- A “Relax Zone” allows you to recuperate or get psycho-medical help if you need it.
- Mobile prevention teams and security and emergency services on site to ensure your safety and well-being.
- Health & Safety teams in front of the stages.
- Welcome agents to guide you around the site
- A Croix Rouge stand, located between the concert site and the campsites and open 24 hours a day for the duration of the festival.
Let’s talk about … Respect :
Respect for others – You’re Safe Here
Dour c’est l’Amour ! That’s why we believe everyone should be welcomed and respected.
Because no means no, and wearing shorts is not an invitation to grab a hand on the buttocks, because you are welcome at Dour whatever your musical tastes, beliefs, skin color, weight, language, etc., because we cultivate benevolence in difference, we have set up a prevention, support and accompaniment system with the SISU (Croix Rouge psychosocial emergency response service).
The device is called You’re Safe Here and aims to combat aggression and harassment. In concrete terms, you’ll find people wearing orange armbands bearing the words You’re Safe Here throughout the festival. If you have a problem, contact one of these people (in the bars, at reception, roaming the site, etc.). They’ve been trained to welcome you and direct you and your mates to the SISU team of professionals – trained, bilingual counsellors offering psychosocial support to any victims or witnesses of aggression or harassment.
Compliance with legislation
It goes without saying that the laws in force in Belgium also apply to the Festival. For this reason, no alcoholic beverages may be served, offered or sold to young people under the age of 16, in accordance with the law.
Dour Festival has zero tolerance when it comes to drugs! Any breach of the law may result in expulsion from the festival grounds.
