It all began with dance. From the age of 5, Maureen was a self-taught dancer, exploring various styles: dancehall, salsa, bachata, afro house and new-style hip-hop. Her apprenticeship continued in Martinique, then in Île-de-France, where she honed her style in specialized studios. For her, dance is much more than an art: it’s a liberation, a space for personal expression.

It was with “Tic”, however, that Maureen took a decisive step forward. Initially intended as just another song in her repertoire, the track was to have an exceptional destiny. In 2021, the famous fashion house Thierry Mugler chose “Tic” as the soundtrack for its spring-summer fashion show. The result? Maureen’s voice accompanied Bella Hadid in a memorable performance, exposing the artist from Martinique to a worldwide audience.

Since then, Maureen has gone from strength to strength. By 2023, she had scored a string of hits and established herself as a key figure in shatta, a vibrant musical style derived from Martinican dancehall, characterized by powerful bass and catchy rhythms.
With his voice, his dance steps and his infectious energy, Dour Festival will be vibrating to the sounds of Martinican culture on July 20. A performance that promises to be unforgettable!
