LA FEMME
Rock en ébullition: La Femme will electrify Dour Festival on July 18!
La Femme returns to her first love, the new wave of “Psycho Tropical Berlin” (“Machine”), which she fuses with an Anglo-Saxon rock sound of the 80s and 90s (“Rock”). The album is a tribute to rock, its effectiveness and timelessness. With “Rock Machine”, La Femme explores machine-tinged rock.
Following on from “Psycho Tropical Berlin”, “Mystères” and “Paradigmes”, the band founded by Marlon Magnée and Sacha Got return with “Rock Machine”, their first album written entirely in English. Composed over the last few years while touring extensively around the world, this new opus was strongly inspired by a series of dates in the USA. With its electro-arena-rock sound, “Rock Machine” is a cosmopolitan album, designed to appeal to an even wider international audience.
With “Rock Machine”, La Femme continues to develop a multi-dimensional, timeless universe with a unique sonic aesthetic. The first single, “Ciao Paris”, is a metaphorical farewell to France, blending 60s YéYé pop influences with electro-surf sounds. “Clover Paradise” takes us on a dark, hypnotic dance floor. “Love Is Over” is a haunting new wave ballad, reminiscent of 90s Madchester bands playing at La Hacienda. “Venus” is an irresistible, intoxicating encounter between The Velvet Underground and The Mamas and the Papas. To these rock and synthwave sounds are added touches of electro (“Sweet Babe”), disco revisited in British punk style (“My Generation”), and many other surprises.
La Femme will perform at Dour Festival on July 18. Get ready for a daring and eclectic musical experience at the foot of the wind turbines!
