Blonde Redhead
Blonde Redhead, the alchemy of rock and avant-garde at the heart of the Dour Festival
Thirty years into their career and still with their elusive aura. Blonde Redhead is the art of defying time, of evolving without ever betraying itself. On 17th July, Blonde Redhead will be back at Dour Festival with a new album that captures their essence: Sit Down for Dinner.
Formed in the heart of New York in 1993, the trio made up of Kazu Makino and twin brothers Amedeo and Simone Pace has defied the labels of the past few decades. From the New York underground of the 90s to the elegant experimentation of today, the trio continues to chart its own course, at the crossroads of indie rock, dream pop and the avant-garde.
With Sit Down for Dinner, their tenth album, Blonde Redhead produced a work of an extraordinary depth. Inspired by The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion, the album explores the fragility of existence, mourning and the rituals that anchor us in reality. Kazu’s ethereal voice, Amedeo’s haunting progressions and Simone’s rhythmic precision create a luminous and gripping atmosphere.
On stage, Blonde Redhead radiates a rare intensity. With their airy grooves, Brazilian influences and experimental vocals, each performance promises a unique journey. On Snowman, Before and Kiss Her Kiss Her, nostalgia and hope intertwine with unrivalled elegance.
On 17th July, Dour Festival becomes the stage for an unforgettable encounter with a band that, three decades after its first songs, continues to amaze.
