EL GRANDE TOTO

The Maroccan phenomenon, ElGrandeToto, arrives at Dour Festival on 20th July

EL GRANDE TOTO

Originally from Casablanca, ElGrandeToto is much more than just a rapper: he’s the voice of a generation, an artist who has taken Moroccan rap far beyond its borders. A rising star on the French rap scene, ElGrandeToto has established himself as a phenomenon on the international scene.

Born in a working-class family, ElGrandeToto, whose real name is Taha Fahssi, draws his inspiration from the vibrant streets of Benjdia, the neighbourhood where he grew up. This environment forges his artistic identity and imbues him with an authenticity that shines through in each of his tracks.

With Caméléon, his debut album, he channels this raw energy into an eclectic and ambitious project, fusing Darija, French and English to create a universal musical language. His tracks such as Santa Fe, Halla Halla and Mghayer are setting the social networks alight, confirming her status as a star on the rise.

But ElGrandeToto doesn’t limit himself to a solitary trajectory. He has surrounded himself with an army of major rap figures such as Damso, Hamza and Lefa. These collaborations reflect his ambition to break down borders and open up Moroccan rap to a global audience.

Join us at the Dour Festival on 20 July to immerse yourself in the world of ElGrandeToto, a mix of fast-paced bangers and introspective melodies.
