BRU-C
British dance-rap sensation invites himself to Dour on July 18!
Nottingham-born rapper Bru-C has forged an impressive career for himself, blending rap, bassline and dance music. From his childhood in Derbyshire, where he played with a keyboard in his bedroom, to his early musical influences from Lauryn Hill, Al Green and artists like Beenie Man, Bru-C has always been immersed in a rich and varied universe.
As a teenager, he discovered British sounds thanks to his sister, exploring garage, grime and bassline, which led him to become a local reference for new musical trends. At 19, he joined the band After Dark Movement, before going solo in 2016 with the founding of “Krudd”, a collective dedicated to the bassline scene.
With landmark projects such as “Black ‘N Red”, which explores his introspective reflections, and “Original Sounds”, where he experiments with genres such as trance and drum and bass, Bru-C is establishing himself as a major figure on the UK dance and rap scene. During the pandemic, his “Smile” project highlighted his more personal approach, tackling mental health themes while retaining the euphoric energy of his productions.
On July 16, Bru-C will bring his boundless creativity and infectious energy to the Dour Festival. Get ready for a performance that combines sonic power, authenticity and a true celebration of rave culture!
