Almost 15 years after meeting in a Zurich nightclub, Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer have made their mark on the music industry they once admired. Since 2008, the duo has been inseparable, fusing friendship and artistic creativity. Driven by a shared vision, boundless energy and creativity, they have come together to create the now iconic duo Adriatique.
The secret of their enduring partnership lies in their ability to complement each other. The two Adrian’s excel in the harmony of their differences: their varied musical influences combine to create a unique and distinctive sound, while their complementary talents – one more oriented towards studio work, the other towards live performances – guarantee consistent excellence in all aspects of their art.
In recent years, Adriatique has established itself as a brand in its own right, recognized for its artistic consistency and innovative vision of electronic music and event design. Renowned institutions such as Afterlife, Awakenings, Circoloco and Diynamic have collaborated with them, while they simultaneously laid the foundations for their own initiatives: Siamese, their label, and X, their futuristic event concept.
From their debut in 2012, Adriatique found a home with Diynamic Music, Solomun’s prestigious label. The duo quickly built a solid reputation, with releases on leading labels such as Afterlife. In 2016, they realized a dream by launching their own label, Siamese, which has become a haven for emerging talent and a space for creative expression for themselves.
In 2018, their only studio album, Nude, was released on Afterlife, marking a major milestone in their journey. Critically acclaimed, Nude broadened their artistic spectrum, opening up new horizons beyond their established style. In 2022, they were asked to remix two of music’s biggest recent hits: On My Knees by RÜFÜS DU SOL in July, followed by Moth To A Flame by Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd in August.
With X, Adriatique continues to explore new territories. Launched in December 2022 in Zurich after years of meticulous preparation, this event concept quickly took off, establishing itself in Tel Aviv, Ibiza, Beirut, São Paulo and Amsterdam in its first year. But X is not limited to events: this ambitious platform also extends to music production.
Every year, the Adriatique brand consolidates its position and broadens its creative influence. Whether through their meticulously orchestrated X events, their support for talent via Siamese or their performances on the world’s most prestigious stages, Adriatique’s impact on the music industry is undeniable. A hypnotic and powerful sonic journey, where every vibration intensifies to culminate in moments of pure, explosive energy, will come to life on the Dour Festival stage on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
